Burlington Ensemble: “Precocious Prodigies”

BURLINGTON — Burlington Ensemble (BE) opens its third season of the 90/10 Series of benefit concerts at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, at College Street Congregational Church. The concert features New York City pianist David Kaplan performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Concertos K. 413, K. 414, and K. 415 accompanied by string quartet, and highlights the community non-profit organization Puppets in Education.

The string quartet players are artistic directors and violinists Sofia Hirsch and Michael Dabroski with violist Elizabeth Reid and cellist John Dunlop. This season, as part of its education program “String Quartet Project (SQP),” Burlington Ensemble will premiere a student string quartet composition during each of its concert “intermezzi,” a collaboration with Vermont composer Erik Nielsen’s Music COMP program (formerly Vermont MIDI).
