MYVoice: Knights & Troubadours
Get set for a high-energy evening of music when the young men of Chor Leoni’s MYVoice program storm the stage for Knights & Troubadours, a concert exploring all things chivalrous! Chor Leoni will be on hand to open the concert, and the evening will close with MYVoice and Chor Leoni singing together, but the focus of the evening will be on these talented young men.
Of course, the music is not just troubadour songs and tales of medieval gallantry. Directors Carrie Tennant and Kevin Zakresky have included their usual mix of classical and popular songs as well as a number of show tunes that will show the boys at their most hilarious. Besides a couple of numbers from Camelot, the young men will also perform favourites from medieval spoofs like Robin Hood: Men in Tights as well as Monty Python’s Search for the Holy Grail.
“We’re not just knights,” says MYVoice participant John Galvani, “we’re singing, dancing, prancing knights. There’s a big difference.”
Many of the boys in MYVoice have continued on in their school and community choirs because of their experience with the program. “We’ve started something really special here,” remarks director Carrie Tennant. “MYVoice is a chance for young men to try singing for the first time. Once they realize how much they enjoy it, they will continue for the rest of their lives.”

“MYVoice changed my life!” says 2011 participant Luke McAndless-Davis. “I’m in two of my school choirs and Coastal Sound Youth Choir now. I never knew how good I could get at singing.”
